Caring for your jewellery
If treated with love and care your Rebecca Chaudhry treasure will last many lifetimes. It is best to avoid wearing your jewels while exercising, doing housework and gardening. It is also advisable not to sleep in your jewellery, although this is personal preference.
Opal care
All of the opals used in our pieces are solid opal and therefore can be submerged in water for short periods of time without causing damage. Opal is a fairly soft stone however, approximately the same hardness as glass, so does require a little extra care to avoid damage. We recommend removing opal pieces if there is a chance the stones may be scratched or knocked, come into contact with chemicals or be exposed to extreme heat.
Cleaning your jewellery
All Rebecca Chaudhry pieces can be cleaned gently by submerging them in a solution of warm water and a drop of washing-up liquid. We recommend using a soft toothbrush to gently scrub the piece to remove any oil and dirt build-up, before rinsing in a bowl of clean warm water and drying with a clean soft cloth.
We have created a step-by-step guide to cleaning your jewellery on our journal.
